The Years That Weren’t

When I posted my last entry, it never occurred to me that two years would pass before I updated these pages again; two, plus the year preceding them. Not a single word, though I did keep creatively active and sold a story to an anthology published by Queer Sci Fi. Still, between death on a global scale and an attempted coup of the federal government, there’s been nothing in my own experience that compares. Any successes or setbacks in my own life are petty in light of what others have endured. Millions are dead. Faith in our leadership (one party in particular) has been shattered. My personal inconveniences amount to very little. So I’ll neither share nor complain, and focus on the future instead with hope and determination. 2023 can–and will–be better than those before it. It’s up to us. We cannot do otherwise.
